Sunny Island Support

Feb 10, 2014 at 2:15 AM
Hi there,

Is the sunny island supported via speedwire? I'm looking into monitoring options and would like to know what kind of information I can extract. I'd like to be able to monitor battery charge level, grid power, gen power, relay states etc.

I forgot to mention I have a Sunny Island 6.0H

Sunny Island via Speedwire is supported since version 2.2.8
The data you want is already there, but if you need others, let me know

Hello SBF,

tried out V2.4.0 on Windows 7 with my Sunny Island 6.0H Speedwire, the Programm tells me you want the Output:

SMAspot V2.4.0
Yet another tool to read power production of SMA solar inverters

Compiled for Windows 32 bit

Commandline Args:

SetInverterTime() not executed! We're still testing...
Unknown Device Class. Report this issue at https://code.google.com/p/sma-spot/issues/list with following info:

csv data isn't wrote.

If you need more Data (v5) let me know and how. Is this the right place?

Thanks for this intresting tool, and reading my bad english.

Thanks SBF. I'm planning on purchasing the speedwire module (depending on how much it ends up costing) for the SI6.0H and setting up a raspberry pi to log the data.

Once I get it all going I'll see if I need to grab anything else out of it. Off the top of my head I'd like the following data:
  • Battery Voltage
  • Battery Current
  • Battery SOC
  • Battery SOC Error
  • Battery Temp
  • Net Power (kW)
  • Generator Power (kW)
  • Generator Running State
Once I get it all going I'm happy to help out with any information you may need to get this done (or a bit of a crash course to adding my own data to it and commit it back to the repo).

Battery inverter class is forgotten in the taglist files... this is a bug
For the extra info you need to specify verbose mode (-v)
I have to admit the Sunny Island support is not yet sufficient... there is no csv export, only on screen. But it is possible of course ;-)

Hopefully I'll be able to help in that regard in the future :)

My SI system isn't local to where I live but there is a persistent reverse SSH tunnel to the RPI there so it can be worked on at any time.
